The Schiff
As my body slowly begins to crystallize
I feel the tears of my comrades fall on my face
Their screams of loss and wretchedness
Left to echo on and on forever in my mind and thoughts
All I can do is lay here
Helplessly in pain
As the thorn in my side
Begins to grow deeper than just the suface
My thorn is my pain
It is the thing that causes my comrades tears
As well as both theirs and my pain
Never will it be healed or removed
But at the same time I am grateful
Grateful to be released from my curse called life
My comrades and friends
They all share my curse
Me and my comrades
Are far from humans
We were created and will all soon die
For we are not really even living
Our curse is the thorn
Our only cure is the curse itself
The only happiness that we will ever get
Can only be achieved throught our death
For we are like none other
We are the Schiff

"When you sleep, your body marks the time. Yesterday dies in the dark; tomorrow wakes. Eyes open, you know. The body ages, the hourglass empties, death approaches, time is devoured but not lost."
Excerpt from "Skinned" by Robin Wasserman
Out of all of the characters in Blood+, I'd have to say that I liked the Schiff best of all, and the way you turned their suffering into poetry is quite lovely- excellent work ^^

Everybody knows- everybody knows;
That you cradle the sun,
Living in remorse,
Sky is over

Your poem actually inspired me to compose my own poem about the Schiff- could you tell whe what you think? [link]
I don't really do much poetry, though, so it's not that great XD

It was really good! I'm immpressed and estatic that one of my crappy poems inspired someone else to creat their own and MUCH better poem about the same subject.
O but you should because it'll be hard to stop trust me I've been writing poems for about 3 years mainly because once you start you can't stop because it quickly becomes like your own version of heroin.

Thank-you! And it really isn't better than yours- yours is a lot more heart-felt and descriptive~ ♥
I see what you mean- I'm hunting for more things to write about already, and I only started today XD
